When Nicole Cassidy moves from sunny Georgia to gloomy New England, the last thing she expects is to learn that her homeroom is a cover for a secret coven of witches. Even more surprisingly … she’s apparently a witch herself. Despite doubts about her newfound abilities, Nicole is welcomed into this ancient circle of witches and is bedazzled by their powers—and, to her dismay, by Blake—the school’s notorious bad-boy.

Girls who get close to Blake wind up hurt. His girlfriend Danielle will do anything to keep them away, even if she must resort to using dark magic. But the chemistry between Blake and Nicole is undeniable, and despite wanting to protect Nicole from Danielle’s wrath, he finds it impossible to keep his distance.

When the Olympian Comet shoots through the sky for the first time in three thousand years, Nicole, Blake, Danielle, and two others in their homeroom are gifted with mysterious powers. But the comet has another effect—it opens the portal to the prison world that has contained the Titans for centuries. After an ancient monster escapes and attacks Nicole and Blake, it’s up to them and the others to follow the clues from a cryptic prophecy so that they can save their town … and possibly the world.

With this book being about Olympus Gods and Goddesses, I found it only fitting to have a list of both mine and Michelle's favorite Gods and Goddesses.

Michelle's Top 5 Gods/Goddesses
1) Apollo. He’s the god of music, knowledge, truth and prophecy, healing, poetry, and more. He represents learning and order, and the Apollonian mindset is that of reason and thinking. I’ve always thought that if I went to Camp Half-Blood, I would be in Apollo’s cabin!
2) Athena. Because she’s a strong, smart, independent female.
3) Aphrodite. She derives power from her beauty, which is very different from Athena (who derives power from her brain), but I think it makes her very interesting in stories.
4) Artemis. Because she strikes me as the most independent, wild, and free of all the gods.

5) Dionysus. Because who doesn’t love a good party now and then? ;)

Kristie's Top 5 Gods/Goddesses
1) Hades. I have much respect for Hades. While he's given a bad rap because of what he did to Persephone, I feel that we need to acknowledge his important role within the universe. Not everyone can say they oversee the dead on a daily basis.
2) Athena. Like Michelle said, she's a BAMF. What I find most interesting, is that she is the most androgynous looking goddess.
3) Aphrodite. I feel that we all try to live up to her beauty. I think we all need to tell ourselves on a daily basis that we're as beautiful as her.
4) Hermes. Being the God of boundaries, travel, communication, trade, language, and writing is one of the best jobs out there. If it weren't for him, we'd still be cavemen stuck grunting to each other. I also love the fact that his sacred animal is a tortoise.
5) Persephone. I've always felt a hidden love for her; while she wasn't Hades wife by choice, we have to give her mad respect for sticking around with him. We can't forget to thank her for the ability to have vegetation on earth.
